Mrs. Simone McKnight, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg, at the age of 85. Simone was born in Belgium and was a daughter of the late Mary (Van Den Bossche) and Gustaaf Vermeersch. Beloved wife of the late Alvin McKnight. Loving mother of: Mary Jane (the late Doug Currah), Sharon (Roy urke), Brenda (Terry Brown), and Alana McKnight-Houle (the late Patrick Bechard) and mother-in-law of Al Deryck. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Darryl Currah & friend Allison of Oil Springs, Leigh-Anne Siebert of Kingsville, Jo-Ellen & Christopher Couture of Blenheim, Scott & Victoria Burke of Chatham, Shannon & Laurie Burke of Chatham, Terry Brown of Oklahoma, Jayson Brown of Toronto, Kevin & Nina Houle, Kelly Houle & friend Jillian, Jennifer & Dayne Mazzerolle, Christopher Deryck, Shayi-Lynn Moorehouse and Shayne Knight. Sadly missed by her great grandchildren Brittany Currah, Daniele, Julia and Mark Siebert, Rainne and Lannie Burke, Alexander and Arthur Burke, Julia, Luke and Samantha Houle, Kennedy and Mitchell Ewing, Tyler and McKenzie Mazzerolle, Burke Couture and her great great grandchildren Maderick and Kalum Predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Deryck (1996) and a brother, Frank Vermeersch. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Monday, November 1, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 11:00am, from the chapel of the funeral home. Cremation will follow with the interment of ashes at a later date in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
