Mr. Sietse "Cecil" Heikamp, a resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at CHKA Wallaceburg at the age of 95 years.
He was born in Winschoten, Holland and was a son of the late Wilhelm and Riemke (Systma) Heikamp.
Beloved husband of the late Winona (Kirkpatrick) Heikamp.
Loving father of Rick Heikamp and Tom Heikemp. Loving grandfather of Amanda.
Predeceasaed by a sister Aafke (Nicholas) Suisham and the Late Jan Heikamp. Sadly Missed by many nieces and nephews.
He had served in the Dutch Army for 5 year then served 20 more years with the Canadian Armed Forces. He then Worked for many years at the Wallaceburg Hospital until retirement. Cecil enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking and found great pride in his own art work. Many days were spent out at Brander Park in Port Lambton watching the freighters on Lake St. Clair.
Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 5-8pm The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11am at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
