Obituary

Another Knitting and Crocheting Angel is soaring free.

Mrs. Shirley Stiff, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, Chatham, at the age of  85.

Shirley was the youngest daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Faubert) Lozon of Chatham.

Shirley was reunited with her husband of 51 years, Ernie Stiff (2008).

Shirley held the award of being the Most Loving Mother of: Ed and Dan Stiff and Cindy Stiff-Deschenes. Not only was she their mom, she was their best friend.

Forever silly and fun loving Nana of: Lyndi and Joel Deschenes.  Their Nana's heart also held a special place for Kimberly and Cindy's companion Gary Park (Kimberly's father).

Survived by additional grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sister in laws and family.

Predeceased by her sister Marjorie (Vie) Dauphin and her brother Donald Lozon.

Also sadly missed by her grandson Joel's cat Fred. They were inseparable. She will also be missed by her granddaughter Lyndi's little dogs Louie and Sadie.

Shirley was an avid knitter and loved to crochet. She always took pride in donating to the Ronald McDonald House in London and other charities as well.  For many years, Shirley was involved with helping to prepare meals for the Kinsmen above the original Wallaceburg Community Centre where she was an active member. She was also involved in helping fund raising efforts like bake sales and bingos. Shirley also helped to organize bus trips for the Community Centre. She was a member of the Salvation Army church for many years where she also helped to raise money through craft and bake sales and rummage sales. Shirley worked at Libbys canning factory in Wallaceburg for many years.

She was very proud to be a cohost on Wallaceburg's own cable show, "Lets Visit with Edna and Shirley."

The late Shirley Stiff rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.

Following her wishes, cremation will take place.

Visitation will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy , in lieu of flowers and plants, donations to the Ronald McDonald House, or a charity of your choice, may be left at the funeral home.
