Mrs. Shirley Kathleen Arends, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, "Public General Campus", in Chatham, at the age of 72. Shirley was born in Sombra and was a daughter of the late William and Addie Henry. Beloved wife of William "Bill" Arends. Loving mother of: John Arends, Douglas Arends, David (Genevieve Collier) Arends, Jason (Elizabeth) Arends and Anne Marie (David Cook) Arends. Sadly missed by nine grandchildren: Jessica, Kathleen, Danielle, Lee, Victoria, Anthony, Matthew, Allison, Tyler and two great grandchildren: Alexis and Lee Michael. Kind sister of: Ruth Van Wolde and Arlene Fader and sister-in-law of: Donna Jean Henry and Murray (Linda) Aiken and Ed (Petra) Arends, and Tine (Bert) Nijdam. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a grandson, William John, her brothers: Bill Henry, Clarence Henry, Alvin Henry, Jack Henry, her sister, Patsy Aiken and brothers-in-law, Ben Van Wolde and Paul Fader. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, from the Chapel of the Funeral Home, at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow with the interment of ashes at a later date.
