Mr. Roy Chauvin, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 83.
Roy was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Rosaire and Rose (Bechard) Chauvin. Beloved husband of Marie (Reek) Chauvin. Loving father of Kim (Marlene), Karen (Dave) Janssens and the late Curtis (2013). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Erin, Heather (Chris), Christopher (Lindsay) and Adam and his great grandchildren Hunter, Alyssa, Ava, Aubrey and Preslie. Kind brother of Joyce (Bill) Parks, Ralph (Marion) Chauvin and Jimmy (Dale) Chauvin and brother-in-law of Sarah Chauvin and Violet Chauvin. Predeceased by his brothers Peter and Rosaire Jr. Roy was a trainer with the Wallaceburg Lakers for many years. He followed his grandkids anywhere they went for events and loved camping, golfing and fishing.
Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Roy Chauvin.
