Obituary

Mr. Richard Scott Thompson, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at University Hospital, in London, at the age of 73. Richard was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. and was a son of the late William and Carrie (Lewis) Thompson. Beloved husband of Loretta "Lorry" (Sikora) Thompson. Loving father of Tim (Deni), Dan (Audra), Mike (Theresa) and Valary (Michael). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Cody, Mikey, Timmy, D.J. and Cayenne. Kind brother of Tom (Trish), Linda (Skip) and Sharon (Ray) and brother-in-law of Peggy (Ken) and Anita. Predeceased by a brother William and a brother-in-law George and his wife Bev. Also sadly missed by his canine companion Rusty. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Scott was a retiree of Wabtec foundry where he devoted over 40 years of service. His favourite pursuits included growing his own organic vegetables, fishing locally and on trips to Deep Creek Maryland, camping with his family, and working on projects around the house. His intelligence, humour and initiative made him many friends and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Friends will be received for a visitation and wake at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from 1-6 p.m. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the London Health Science Centre, Dialysis Unit may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Richard Scott Thompson.
