Mrs Rachel De Jans passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the age of 89 years. Rachel was a resident of Dresden and born in Wallaceburg.  S he was the daughter of the late Albert and Leontine (Buyse) Van Haecke.
Much loved wife of 62 years to the late Servaas De Jans (2015) and mother of Brian De Jans of London and Brenda Shreve of Chatham. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Ethan and Evan. Mother-in-law of Ellwood Shreve.  She is survived by one brother Albert Van Haecke of Wallaceburg and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her brothers Maurice, Paul, Marcel and her sisters Emily Rosseel and Mary Vandevenne. Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 1, 2016 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, in Wallaceburg, at 11:00 a.m.  The Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.  As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Rachel De Jans.
