Mrs. Pearl Long, a resident of Windsor, formerly of Wallaceburg, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre, Windsor at the age of 91. Loving wife of the late Douglas Long. A duaghter of the late Levi and Leona (Geroux) DeCedar. Loving mother of Pamela Long and Ken (Geri) Long. Predeceased by her sisters Marie Lizotte, Rachel Momney, Vera Bonnett, Madeline Labadie, Mabel LaPointe and her brothers Norman DeCedar, Wilfred DeCedar, Oscar DeCedar and Philip DeCedar. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:30am from Holy Family Church, Wallaceburg, with Fr. Ben Huyge, Celebrant. Cremation will follow with the interment of ashes in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Pearl Long.
