It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Patrick "Pat" Joseph Mahu, a lifelong resident of Wallaceburg, on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the age of 64. He passed away peacefully at home with his family and friends by his side. Pat was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Paul and Marie (Muller) Mahu. He will be sadly missed by his devoted and loving wife, Lorraine (Peats) Mahu, his Children: Kim (James Durfy) Mahu, Michele (Paul) Demars, Helen (Dave) Vander Baan and Dwayne (Heather) Shaw. Loving grandfather of: Joseph, Samantha, Chelsea, Emily, Austin, Katelynn and Jessica. He will also be missed by his two constant companions, Oreo and Eightball. He is survived by his brother Peter (Anne) Mahu and sister Rosie (Jon Brown) Caron and a brother-in-law Peter Strydonck. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Josephine (and the late Fred) Lernout, Mary Strydonck and baby brother Joseph. The late Patrick Mahu rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. At the family's request, cremation will take place. An outdoor BBQ, in celebration of Pat's life, will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 2pm, at the Mahu residence. Please bring lawn chairs and a beverage of your choosing. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
