Maurice Norbertus Lauwereys passed away at the age of 88 on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Maurice was born in Wallaceburg and was the eldest son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Seys) Lauwereys.

He was the kind brother of Albert (Lena) Lauwereys, Margaret Hanson, Veronica  Bishop, Janet Cornelius, and Jeanne (Dick) Vandendool.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Cyriel Lauwereys (Barb), Robert Lauwereys (Sherri), Mike Lauwereys, and his sister, Linda Jackson.

Following Maurice's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family sends their heart felt thanks to the complete staff and volunteers at Chatham Kent Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness shown to Maurice.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Vincent de Paul or Chatham Kent Hospice can be left at Nicholl's Funeral Home.
