Obituary

Mary Hazzard, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Fairfield Park, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 94.

Mary was born in Wallaceburg and was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Hamilton) Hazzard.

Mary is predeceased by her long time companion Gord Teeter (2006).

Survived by her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Jayne Burritt, Mary Pat Elliott, Joyce (Joe) Myers, Elaine Lewis and Doug (Helen) Teeter.  Also survived by her nieces Mary Margaret Ettinger, Ruth Ann Francouer and her nephew Jim Hazzard, all of Sarnia.

Kind sister of the late Wellington S. "Huck" Hazzard (1972), Glenn W. Hazzard (1989) and Ray Hazzard (1983).

Mary was a nurse for many years and worked in London, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta, Bermuda and the New York City CPMC.  Upon her retirement, she volunteered in Toronto at the Toronto General Transplant Unit.

The late Mary Hazzard rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.  Following her wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11 a.m., from the Kinsmen Community Centre, 1416 Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Lend a Hand Breakfast Program or Knox Presbyterian Church, Wallaceburg may be left at the funeral home.
