Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Betty Bowen, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 86 years. She was born in Virginia, U.S.A. and was a daughter of David and Buna (Kelly) Dixon. Wife of the late Martin Bowen. Dear mother of: Libby (Chuck) Lindsay, Barbara (Craig Anson) Canniff and mother-in-law of, Linda Bowen. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Shannon, Scott, Chris, Ben, Heather, Sean, Kelly and her great grandchildren: Raini, Hunter, Colin, Abby, Norah, Leah, James and Paige. Predeceased by two children: William D. Bowen and Virginia Lee. The late Betty Bowen is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin St. Wallaceburg. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held, in the chapel of the funeral home, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at 12pm. Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
