Mrs. Marie N. Garrod, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg, at the age of 80. A daughter of the late Jack and Blanche (Markham) Mitchell. Beloved wife of the late Ernest (Roy) Garrod (1996). Loving mother of Deb (Almer) Ellis, Dave Garrod, Pat (Mary Jane) Garrod, Rick (Diane) Garrod and John (Jan) Garrod. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Lisa, Jeremy, Matt, Christina, Jennifer and her great grandchildren Zach, Ivy, Lily, Brady, Abby and Matt. Dear sister of Mabel Hanson, Ray (JoAnne) Mitchell and Helen Kani. Predeceased by her brothers Bill and Sid and her sisters Grace, Peggy and Betty. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from the funeral home at 10 a.m. with Rev. Alan McIntyre, Officiant. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson's Society may be left at the funeral home.
