Ms. Margaret Magian Shawanda , a resident of Walpole Island , passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus, Wallaceburg, at the age of 67.

Margaret was born in Chatham and was a daughter of the late Victor A. and Agnes ( Sands ) Ermatinger.

Wife of Gordon Shawanda.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren Gordon Jr., Candace Rose and Ashley Isaac and 5 great grandchildren.

Kind sister of Ruth Atkins, Lorraine Taylor, Rita Day, Marilyn Ermatinger, Marie Shiffer and Victoria Williams.

Predeceased by her children Gordon Shawanda and Michelle Shawanda and her brothers and sisters Frederick Ermatinger, Nicodemus Ermatinger, Gertrude Ermatinger, Patrick Ermatinger, Amos Ermatinger, Susan Dodge, Lawrence Ernatinger and Michael David Ermatinger.

Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday , March 18, 2016 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Wallaceburg, at 11:00 a . m ., with Fr. Raju Allumpurath, Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Highbanks Cemetery, Walpole Island , Ontario.

As an expression of sympathy , donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.

As a living memorial , a t ree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Margaret Magian Shawanda .
