Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Peggy Patterson, a resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Fairfield Park, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 87. She was born in London and was a daughter of the late William and Betty (Oliver) Smith. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, in Wallaceburg. She served on the St James Anglican Church Chancel Guild for over 13 years. She taught Sunday School at the church for many years. She was a member of the Harriet Newkirk Chapter of the I.O.D.E. She was a member of the Wallaceburg Power Squadron. She was a Charter Member of the Wallaceburg Optimists. She was a long time volunteer, receiving her appreciation certificate from Lapointe Fisher Nursing Home and now Fairfield Park Nursing Home. She was very active with the Hospital Auxiliary. Beloved wife of the late Shirley Patterson. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Jane and Paul Gillis of Mississauga and Dave and Bonnie Patterson of Wallaceburg. Loving grandmother of Laura, Daniel, Mark, Melissa (Dave Ardis) and Brad. Kind sister-in-law of Sheila Lacey of London. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 2pm from the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin St., in Wallaceburg. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment of ashes will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Donations to the Sydenham Hospital Auxiliary or the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial a tree will be planted in the Nicholls Memorial Forest, In memory of Peggy Patterson. Online condolences may be left at www.ericfnichollsfuneralhome.com
