With saddened hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Loretta Celina Riedl , on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) at the age of 73. Loved daughter of Jacqueline (née Everaert) (Van Damme) Regnier and the late Joseph Van Damme. Beloved wife and best friend to Ron Riedl. Loving mother of Matt (Stephanie), Sarah (Jason) Jack, Joe (Jessica), Tom (Christine) and Dave (Kristy). Cherished grandmother to her 13 grandchildren.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Brenda (Bill) Dawson, Debbie (James) Farlow, Cindy (Doug) Babbitt, Christine (Wes) Palimaka, Kim Van Damme, Janet Van Damme, Lynne Riedl, and Ed (Odra) Riedl.  She is predeceased by two brothers Jim and Jeff and brother in law Dr. Frank Riedl. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Loretta loved to make her home beautiful with lots of flowers, smiles, and fresh baked goods. After graduation, she worked at a bank, farmed, and was self employed. Loretta loved to dance and found her lifelong partner at age 16. Resulting in 54 years of a loved and cherished marriage. Anyone who was close to Loretta knew that she was always available, for a visit, a game or a laugh. Most recently she celebrated 40 years as part of the Catholic Women's League. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that she is in the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Loretta could light up any room, despite her own challenges with Rheumatoid Arthritis and will be dearly missed by her husband and children.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at CKHA for not giving up the fight.
