John
Daly
Apr 25, 1932 — Apr 6, 2022
John Daly passed away on April 6, 2022 peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife Diane by his side.
He was born on April 25, 1932 in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
John was raised in Snowden, Saskatchewan, moved to Sarnia, then London, and finally Wallaceburg, Ontario.
John is survived by his children John (Diane) Daly, Jenny (Tom) Flumerfelt, Ed (Peggy) Daly, Dan (Sandy) Daly, Nora (Kevin) Penhale and Tina Bax (Scott Gregory). He will also be missed by his brothers Pat Daly, and Don (Kathy) Daly, and sisters Catherine Doerksen (Murray) and Margaret Rudnicki (John). John was a happy grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.
Predeceased by his parents John and Grace Daly, brother Ed Daly, stepson Jeremy Britton, and grandson Russell Flumerfelt.
A glass man for 45 years, mostly with Canadian Pittsburgh Industries, John enjoyed travelling with the love of his life, Diane, and being surrounded by his large and happy family. He looked forward to playing golf in summer, curling in winter, and socializing year round. John was a lifelong member of the Legion and contributed many hours of volunteer work to help bring people together. He will be remembered for his great smile, his easy, unflappable manner, his stoic approach to life, and a smile that lit up the room.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wallaceburg Legion Branch 18, 52 Margaret Ave., in Wallaceburg.
Everyone is welcome to the service and lunch, in celebration of this wonderful man. John was a blessing to all who knew him, but especially to those fortunate enough to call him husband, Dad, Poppa, or brother.
The family thanks The Oaks Retirement Village team who went above and beyond to care for John in his final weeks. Doctors and the care team at Sarnia Hospice are also acknowledged here, with our gratitude. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Wallaceburg Legion Branch 18 or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been gratefully entrusted to Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg.
