Johan "John" Harder's Obituary
John D. Harder was born on April 24, 1953 to the late Martin and Helena Harder in Durango, Mexico. He was the eldest of 11 children. John was baptized upon confession of his faith on June 15, 1973. He married Helen Dyck on June 15, 1975. They were blessed with 8 children; Martin, Abe, John, Helen, Mary, Annie, Peter and Tina, 18 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. John was predeceased by his parents Martin Harder in January 1987 and Helena (Dyck) Harder in September 2009, a brother Nick August 1994. As well as two grandchildren, Destiny in 2014 and Colton in 2016.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Helen, as well as all 8 of his children, 9 siblings, 18 grand children, 2 great grandchildren, in-laws and friends.
Family and Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 2 p.m., with an hour of visitation before the funeral from 1:00 to 2 p.m., all from First Baptist Church. Interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
