Mr. Hugh Wilfred McCann , a resident of Port Lambton , passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Bluewater Health, in Sarnia , at the age of 83.

Hugh was born in Lincoln Park , Michigan, U.S.A and was a son of the late Wilfred and Hazel ( Lovell ) McCann.

Hugh was raised by his late Aunt Sarah (Lovell) Gray.

Beloved husband of Helen Walton - McCann . Predeceased by his first wife Ethel (Perry) McCann (1954) and Ada Isabel l (Waller) McCann (1995).

Loving father of Robert McCann, Hugh McCann, Darlene (Doug) Bateman , Bill (Lynne) Ballantyne , Carol (Bruce) Thompson, Michael Walton, Murray Walton Martin Walton and Tom Waller .

Sadly missed by several grandchildren and great grandchildren .

Predeceased by a step grandson Adam.

Hugh was the owner/operator of McCann's Esso Service in Wallaceburg for many years, a member of the Port Lambton Anglican Church and was a past member of the Mason's Lodge #425 in Sombra.

Family and f riends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 12-2 p.m. with the Funeral Service immediately following visitation at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.

Interment of ashes will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Ontario at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the St. Clair River Trail or the Port Lambton Anglican Church may be left at the funeral home.

As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Hugh Wilfred McCann .
