Mr. Harry Berkvens, a resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance at the age of 76 years. He was born in Asten, Holland and was a son of the late John and Nellie Berkvens. Beloved husband of Helma (Peeters) Berkvens. Loving father and father-in-law of Rob and Julie Berkvens of St. Thomas, Linda Berkvens of Alberta, Don Berkvens of Port Lambton, Lisa and Jeff Genyn of Wallaceburg and Jim and Alanna Berkvens of Port Lambton. Dear grandfather of Luke, Emma, Patrick, Billy, Brianne, Hannah, Brady, Bryer, Brody, Megan, and Kyle. Kind brother of Joe and Mary Berkvens of Nova Scotia, Nelly Koolen, Mary and Peter Aarts, Anne VanEyk, Teresa and Jerry Meulendyks all of Starthroy. Kind brother-in-law of Ida Berkvens of Wallaceburg and Tina Venberkel of Strathroy. Predeceased by two brothers Jim and John. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The late Mr. Berkvens rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin, Wallaceburg. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, November 16, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church, in Port Lambton.
