Our Favourite Auntie Gail
With great love we would like to share, Mrs. Gail (Rothery) Henry, born January 28, 1939, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Fairfield Park, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 83.
Gail was born in Chatham and was the daughter of (James) Edward Rothery and (Lena) Rae (Powers) (Rothery) Moreland and step-daughter of (Herman) Moreland.
Dear loving wife of fun-loving Donald Allan Henry. They enjoyed farm life in Sombra Township. Gail attended Business Collegiate in Chatham. She started at Southside BMO Bank at age 18 and was in Management for 37 years.
She attended St. James Anglican Church and enjoyed skating, golfing, curling, bicycling, cross country skiing and had much fun with the Red Hat Ladies! Don and Gail had many fun years with friends trailer camping at Port Glasgow.
Loving stepmother of Penny & Joe Payne, Patty & Nick Johnston and Steven & Patti Henry.
Loved by 9 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Daughter-in-law to the late Allan & Vera (Weese) Henry.
In Laws of (Wilbur) & Wilma Henry, (Irene) & Ron Doan, (Russel) & Donna Henry, Mona & (Bob) Murphy, (Bob) & Sally Henry, Keith & Joanne Henry and Shirley & Joe Castaldi.
Her brothers (John) & Mary Rothery, (James) & Gerrie Rothery, (Jerry) Rothery and (Marilyn) Rothery.
Our favourite Auntie Gail loved by all her nieces and nephews.
I am sure every cousin would say she was their favourite. We loved her to the moon and back; Janice Gurd, Janet Lashmore, Jim Rothery, Debbie Verbeem, Sally Skinner, Susan Murphy, Linda Sikkema, Rick Rothery, Cathy Zuidema and spouses. Predeceased by Brian Lashmore, Bob Gurd and Deb Rothery.
Our warm-hearted Auntie Gail will be missed by all her Great Great Great Nieces and Nephews and one pending in January, hopefully on her birthday.
The Lord is with her!
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following visitation from the Chapel of the funeral home at 12 noon with Reverend Canon Terry McNear of St. James Anglican Church and organist Betsey McNear.
There will be a fellowship gathering following the service at Sydenham District Community Curling Club.
Cremation will follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Diabetes Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
