Mr. Elmer Ernest Meloche, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the age of 93.  He was born in Windsor, Ontario and was a son of the late Samuel and Adele ( Hamel ) Meloche. Elmer is survived by his wife, Gloria ( Guthrie ) Meloche, of forty - five years. Predeceased by his first wife, Anna (Dubuque) in 1970. He is also survived by his son Wally (Elaine) Meloche, his daughters, Paullette (Richard) Lo u zon, Aggie (Mike) Moynihan, son Mike (Jan) Meloche and step daughters Cindy (Gerry) Moniz and Lynn Keirstead. He will be missed by 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who called him Grampa.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by several brothers and sisters.  Elmer worked for 30 years for Beaver Lumber Company in Wallaceburg and in Sarnia, was a founding member of the Holy Family Parish Credit Union and a Leader of the Boy Scouts. He could often be found playing cards with good friends at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 18, Wallaceburg.  A special thank you to the workers at the Sydenham Residence in Wallaceburg and the Emergency Department at the Wallaceburg Hospital.  Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and a Legion service at 7 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Wallaceburg with Fr. Chris Gillespie, Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Holy Family Church Roof Fund may be left at the funeral home.
As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Elmer Meloche.
