Mr Durk Veldhuis "Dick", a longtime resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the LHSC "Victoria Campus" in London, at the age of 57 years. He was born in St. Thomas, Ontario and was a loving son of Donna (Scholte) Veldhuis of Wallaceburg and the late Andrew "Andy" Veldhuis (1993). He is predeceased by his brother Charles and his sister Greta. He will be missed by many close friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Visitation will take place at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Saturday January 3, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. Interment of ashes, in Riverview Cemetery, will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Dick Veldhuis.
