Mr. Doug Green, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg, at the age of 76. Doug was born in England and was a son of the late Stanley and Ruth (Rodger) Green. Beloved husband of Velda (McChesney) Green. Loving father of: Mike Green of Cambridge, David (Nadine) Green of Chatham and Pam Green of Cambridge. Kind brother of: James (Billie Joe) Green, Janet (Gary) Balfour, Jeffrey (Kathy) Green, and Robert (Ann) Green. Also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, David Green. Doug was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion. The late Doug Green is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Cremation will take place with a Memorial Service to follow on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, from the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 18, 52 Margaret Ave., Wallaceburg, at 3pm with visitation prior to the service from 2-3pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 18 Poppy Fund or the Special Project Fund may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Doug Green.
