Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darryl Robert Williams on Friday, July 28th, at Victoria Hospital in London, at the age of 60.  Darryl was born on July 21st, 1963, son of Gary Moreland and the late Constance (Connie) Moreland.  Loving father of Jessica (Dave Bishop) Williams and Cassandra Williams.  Dear brother of Yvette (Barry Lightfoot) Bowsher, Jennifer (Claudio Zimmerman) Moreland, the late Vance (surviving Donna St. John) Williams, and Proud grandpa to Caiden, Evelyn, Xander, Grady, Darryl and Chase. Kind nephew of Pat (Mike) Shuisham and John (Margie) Blake, and uncle to Nathan and Nichole Moreland and great uncle to River and Tahlah. He will also be sadly missed by many family and friends.  Darryl attended Wallaceburg District Secondary School before attending George Brown College in Toronto. He worked as a meat cutter and as a First Aid instructor for St. John's Ambulance before working for many years at the Central Ambulance Communications Centre as a Dispatcher and Policy & Liaison Officer. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, coached youth boxing at the KAYO club, and helped the Wallaceburg Red Devils as a conditioning coach. Darryl was known for his sense of humour; continuing to crack jokes and smile even through the past few difficult years. He loved cooking, boxing, and his motorcycle, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.  Special thanks to everyone who helped support and care for him especially Diane Buckingham, Nathan Moreland, Wendy Gauthier, Donna St. John, Kim Derynck, Dr. Arab, Dr. Gaid, CKHA NP Shelly, his Care Coordinator Alyssa, staff at CKHA Wallaceburg and Chatham Emergency and inpatient units, EMS and Community Paramedics, staff at LHSC University and Victoria inpatient, transplant and dialysis units, PSW's from Bayshore, nurses from VON, and his drivers from "CHAP".
As his last selfless act Darryl donated to the Trillium Gift Of Life to give someone a chance to receive his gift to their life.
The late Darryl Williams is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.  Following his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at the Wallaceburg CBD club upstairs, from 2 - 5 pm, on Sunday, August 6th, 2023.  As an expression of sympathy donations to the "ALL for Kids Program" (supports youth participation in sports and other activities) and "CHAP" (provides transportation to medical appointments) and Ryan's House, Sarnia may be left at the funeral home.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there Permanently if you let it.
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

A celebration of his life will take place at the Wallaceburg CBD club upstairs, from 2 - 5 pm, on Sunday, August 6th, 2023
