Mr. Brad Oliphant, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham, at the age of 56 years. Loving son of Alice Jean (Eglin) Oliphant and the late Francis Goldie Oliphant. Beloved fiance of Dale (Kehoe) Van Haecke. Dear father of Chris (Amy) Oliphant, Corie (Amy) Oliphant and Jason Oliphant-Amy. Sadly missed by 6 grandchildren. Dear stepfather of Tracey (Brian) Houle, Nicole Van Haecke and Nadine Van Haecke. Sadly missed by 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Kind brother of Julie (Joe) Fraleigh and Cheryl (David) Wood. Also survived by Dales brother and sisters Rosemary (Vern) Brodie, Jean (Ray) McTavish, Jessica (Mike) Fox, Linda (Ted) Boel, Denis (Leslie) Kehoe and Greg Kehoe. He will be missed by his special K9 friend Louie. He will always be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, family, extended family and friends. Brad was a volunteer firefighter with the Wilkesport Fire Department. He was a honourary member of the Dresden Fire Department. He was very creative. Enjoyed camping fishing and hunting. Very devoted to family and friends, always willing to help. He worked as a drywaller with old Boys Drywalling. Resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 1-2:30pm., at the Fraleigh Hall (490 Wallace St., Wallaceburg.) A celebration of life will begin at 2:30pm. A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Salvation Army may be left at the funeral home.
