Obituary

Mr. Arthur Deschamps, of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the CKHA "Sydenham Campus" in Wallaceburg, at the age of 90. Art was born in Harwich Township and was a son of the late Alfonse and Alvira (nee Doorneart) Deschamps. He is reunited with his beloved wife of almost 70 years, the late Geraldine (nee Rabideau) Deschamps (2014). Loving father and father-in-law of Joe Everaert (late Bonnie - 2015), Cheryl Deschamps (late Randy - 2011), Becki Deschamps and Valerie (Richard) Walter. Sadly missed by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Marie Roels, Martha Stroobandt, and his brother George Deschamps. He was a veteran of WWII and served with the Essex Scottish Regiment and a parish member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Legion Service at 6:45 pm and Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Wallaceburg, at 11:00 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Right to Life or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.ericfnichollsfuneralhome.com. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in Memory of Arthur Deschamps.
