Mrs. Anne Thompson, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Fairfield Park, in Wallaceburg, at the age of 88 years. She was born in Mariolana, Yugoslavia. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Hasenfratz) Zopf. Predeceased by her husband Patrick Thompson. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Katherine Thompson, Sue and Eric Allaer, Wayne and Dorothy Thompson and Doug and Cheryl Thompson. She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Kind sister of Mary Roth, and brother Joe and Anne Zopf. Predeceased by her brothers John and Andrew and sister Barb Lisowyk . Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Anne was a member of the Pythian Sisters and was a member of the Branch 18 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. The late Anne Thompson rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin St. Wallaceburg (519-627-2861). Cremation has taken place. At her request a family celebration was held and the interment of her ashes was in Riverview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer's Society may be left at the funeral home. A tree will be planted in the Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Anne Thompson.
