Mrs. Anne Lucy Benn, of Wallaceburg, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, "Public General Campus", Chatham, at the age of 90. Anne was born in West Flanders, Belgium and was a daughter of the late Marcel and Marie (Platjouw)Van De Venne. Beloved wife of the late Charles Benn (2005). Loving mother of Sally Gale, Charlene (Arthur) Da Costa and Marcel (Linda) Benn. Sadly missed by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Predeceased by Great Granddaughter Tiffany Nicole Gale. Kind sister of Deanna (Fred) De Bruyne, Yvonne Yonkheym and sister-in-law of Emma Van De Venne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Rose Marie and her husband Joe Ver Schoore, her brother Omer Van De Venne and her brother-in-law Peter Yonkheym. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 23, 2011 from Holy Family Church, Wallaceburg, at 10:30 am with Fr. Greg Bonin, Celebrant. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Holy Family Church Building Fund may be left at the funeral home.
