Mr. Allan McPherson, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus, in Chatham, at the age of 82. Allan was born in Calgary, Alberta and was a son of the late Naismith and Ruth (Thompson) McPherson. Beloved husband of Corinne (Banks) McPherson. Loving father and father-in-law of Judy (late Eric ) Arsenault, John (Lee) Janisse, Richard (Lisa) Janisse, Doris (William) Colwell, Diane (Rick) Ross, Deborah (late Bruce) Isaac, Kenneth McPherson and Ruth (late Norris) Thorne. Sadly missed by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kind brother-in-law of Marg McPherson. Predeceased by his first wife Annie (Pauwels) McPherson, sisters Ruth and Joan, and a brother Bill. Allan was a Police Sergeant with the Town of Wallaceburg, a Korean Vet, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 18 and a Senator of the Jaycee's. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and Knights of Columbus prayers will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 5, 2015 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ray Lawhead, Celebrant. Cremation will follow with a private family graveside service at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Charity of Your Choice may be left at the funeral home.
